Ed Gazendam

Ed is the President of Water's Edge with over 20 years of experience in streams and water resources in public and private sectors. Ed’s expertise is in fluvial processes, sediment transport and natural channel design issues. He has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Guelph. His Master’s thesis focused on the practical modeling of sediment transport in stream systems. Ed also has specialized training in natural channel design, sediment transport and open channel hydraulics (including Rosgen Level 4 training and training with UC Berkeley, Johns Hopkins and Guelph).
Ed has presented at various conferences and written various papers on stream assessment, monitoring and design. He is also a co-author of the provincial policy document entitled “Adaptive Management of Stream Corridors in Ontario”.
Ed is a Director with the Canadian Water Resources Association – Ontario Branch, a member of the provincial Natural Channels Initiative Committee and registered with the Professional Engineers of Ontario and the Canadian Society of Civil Engineers (Hydraulics).
